Syringe Exchange
In November, 2008, AHP moved into its brand new "state of art" facility totaling 3,500 sq ft, with three floors and 3 separate entrances located at 1204 Broadway, (corner of Van Buren St.) in Bedford Stuyvesant.
The Syringe Exchange Program operates under a New York State waiver to provide syringe exchange and comprehensive harm reduction services to the community.
The Syringe Exchange Program is generously funded by the New York State Department of Health/AIDS Institute (NYSDOH/AI), New York City Department of Health/Public Health Solutions (NYCDOH/PHS) and the Robin Hood Foundation.
ESAP
After Hours Project's mobile unit provides ESAP services at several Brooklyn sites three nights a week. On the corner of Troutman & Knickerbocker on Monday & Thursday nights from 6:PM to 10:PM and at Schaefer & Wilson on Wednesday nights from 6:PM to 10:PM.
The Expanded Syringe Access Program operates under a New York State licence which allows registered Physicans, Physican Assistants, Nurses and Pharmacies to furnish up to ten syringes over the counter to anyone 18 years or older.
